Hurricane Earl is the tropical storm being viewed closely ever since it began in the Caribbean to get bit. Earl was first a Category Three hurricane and is now a Category Four storm. The Hurricane Earl path has been closely viewed to determine how likely it is to hit the United States. It is likely the East Coast will be hit by labor day. This is as the hurricane is now heading in that direction. North of Virginia will get the blow. It is supposed to hit Cape Cod and Long Island.
Coast watch for Earl
The Hurricane Earl projected path follows the United States of America East Coast. The Washington Post reports that the hurricane probably will not make land fall although Earl will come close to the mainland. There are only a couple of things that will be noticeable on the coast. These include altered currents off shore, intense rain and high winds. However, some areas have already been evacuated. The evacuated areas are mostly islands off the coast, mostly resort towns. From South Carolina to Nova Scotia there have been East Coast advisories.
Now we have a ready FEMA
The Federal Emergency Management Agency has met with President Obama. FEMA is in alert mode, made plans for evacuations and has put emergency supplies in states already. There are some evacuations in North Carolina. These are all within the Outer Banks. Tourists all had to leave Ocracoke Island and Hatteras Island. Maryland and Virginia have declared states of emergency.
Where Earl is intending to go
From North Carolina where Earl already is, it is expected to follow the United States coastline. However, it isn’t certain yet whether the storm will or won’t hit land. It is expected that nobody will see the eye of the storm. It is designed to be far out at sea still. However, cities on the coast could expect to receive some heavy winds and rain, as New York City and Boston are both expected to.
